My name is Genesis Gomez, and I am an award-winning model, pageant queen, and entrepreneur. I have walked in all the primary fashion weeks in the USA, been on billboards from Hollywood to Times Square and everywhere in between, graced the cover of magazines, been in commercials and movies, and have been used as a spokesmodel for several companies and brands.
When people meet me, the first thing they notice is my confidence. I get compliments on how my confidence stands out above all else, and they wish theirs were the same. Thus why Model Mindset coaching program was born.
I wasn't always so confident. I grew up in an abusive home with parents who physically, mentally, sexually, and emotionally abused my younger siblings and me. They would gaslight and manipulate reality to the point that we couldn't trust ourselves or others. Becoming a single mom at such a young age, I struggled with self-image, being a nice person versus a good person (we will go over the difference in our sessions), and knowing where I belonged while trying to break generational curses and thrive in a corporate world that wasn't sure what category to put me in. Being racially ambiguous and not belonging to either side of the family also hit my self-esteem, along with the string of friendships and relationships I kept finding myself in that were very similar to how I grew up. Eventually, something clicked in me, and funny enough, I owe a lot to a little plastic bracelet that happened to come with the water bottle I bought at a random gas station one day. It read, "Life won't change until YOU change your life," and that stuck. I wore that bracelet until it naturally fell off my wrist. Now I believe this wasn't a coincidence and that God was using this opportunity to speak to me and for me to wake up. I had more control over my life than I thought. I wasn't just born into a bad situation and couldn't get out; I had to believe in myself and take action to make things happen. Not that I hadn't tried doing something before, but I got more serious about it, cut people out of my life that was dragging me down, and believed that I could do anything I set my mind to no matter what. I looked for teachers and mentors that would take me under their wing and teach me how to live a better life and believe in myself, and I am so grateful I did.
